Linescape has updated its database architecture to now handle schedules with 3, 4 and 5 transhipments in addition to 0, 1 and 2.
Burlingame, CA – June 29, 2026
Linescape, the leading provider of ocean container schedules, has up until now only provided sailing schedules with either direct sailings or with 1 or 2 transhipments. However, following a system upgrade, Linescape now supports schedules with any number of transhipments: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
“We wanted to increase transhipment count for a long time but the architecture wouldn’t allow it“, according to David Tarizzo, CTO at Linescape. “As the number of carriers in our portfolio increased, now at 150 carriers, we realized that as many as 15% of possible schedules were being ignored because they had more than 2 transhipments. So, we invested in our architecture and now our API and data feeds can support up to 5 transhipments.
“Statistically, schedules with 0, 1 or 2 transhipments only provided 85% of all possible schedules, whereas increasing to 3 transhipments takes it to 98% coverage. Adding 4 transhipments takes it to 99%, and then including 5 transhipments brings us to 100%“, according to Dimitrios Sogas, Commercial Director at Linescape. “Although we haven’t had many complaints about too few schedules, we listened to customer feedback and decided we need to be at 100%.
Data feed customers, API subscribers and registered users of the Linescape website can now view schedules with up to 5 transhipments.
