dbh integrates Linescape Sailing Schedules

Bremen ports Ship Information System (SIS) extended by worldwide sailing lists

Burlingame, CA – January 8, 2013

Linescape, the California-based provider of containership sailing schedules, is supplying daily updated data feeds comprising over 120 carriers, more than 10,000 ships and 3,000 ports to freight forwarders all over the world. This data will now be available via “SIS”, the Bremen ports Ship Information System.

This is possible thanks to the cooperation between Linescape and the SIS provider, dbh logistics IT AG. The integration of Linescape data into the Bremen system was achieved by jointly adopting the EDI interfaces. In this way, a solution was created with little effort, that represents a significant added value for SIS users.

“With the integration of Linescape’s sailing schedules, we are pleased to offer to our customers an additional benefit,” said Bernd Huckschlag, Head Port Solutions at dbh. “Terminals, freight forwarders and other companies involved in import-export can save a lot of time and money. Since access to the data can be achieved without any technical adaptations, users benefit directly from this integration”.

SIS users can make use of the extension immediately. The Linescape data will be available in the same format as the ships data from SIS and can be read into any software used by customers. No interface adjustments are needed. All data will be updated regularly to insure that users are accessing always the most recent dataset.
